what happened to autumn?

WHAT HAPPENED TO AUTUMN?!

We seem to have skipped a season.

Two days ago it was 32 degrees out. Although i whine constantly about the heat.. i actually quite like basking under the (apparently highly cancerous) Australian sun. I love how when i get out of a stuffy classroom i see (almost half clad *YUM*) uni students sprawled on the grass under every flimsy shade they could cram themselves into. And of course.. i love the summer get-up = tanktops + flipflops. I thought with the sweltering heat in high gear we have at least a month to go to enjoy the summer.

But it seems that mother nature's decided to be a brat and screw us. It's 10 degrees out today. And the wind chill factor is not even amusing. To top it all off it's been raining sporadically. I hate hate hate the cold. And i'm not even quite ready for it. All my jumpers, turtlenecks, scarves, gloves, jackets and coats are still packed up in the furthest and highest bit of my closet. My toes are still loving the exposure it's getting from wearing havaianas -- they are not happy about being trapped in closed-shoes (the upside is that i can get away with not doing my toes for a while:P). And besides.. winter clothes make me look.. ummm.. frumpy.

I'm hoping that it's just a bit of a freak accident.. This is winter weather and it's NOT WINTER YET!!!!

Whatever happened to autumn? glorious, gorgeous autumn?! When leaves turn brown or gold and the air is crisp and the crickets are just wee bit more obnoxious.. i don't want to be deprived of that great season.. and most of all I WANT THE REST OF MY SUMMER!
