karaoke, crazy bloke and goon

and so it was.. i was slothing the morning away (and by morning i mean early arvo) again until joshy called to say to meet us NOW. And so i got ready in a record half an hour. Made the treck to IH where they were waiting with tinnies of carlton. Didn't drink though.. i was ready for an arvo excursion which meant i didn't want to be sloshed in my uggies swaying all over civic.

So jorsh and dan and me went to Civic, checked out men piling snow (snow? in the city?! hahaha.. that was quite a sight). Jorsh met up with dan the man from queanbeyan (yeah... i know it all rhymes). Dan (and i mean dan from.. bega) and i trailed along while they bought fireworks (yes.. fireworks -- they do it for jorsh.. don't ask me why i don't understand either) and peanuts. Imagine going to fyshwick - not for furniture, not for porn but for fireworks and peanuts. Who would have ever thought??!!

We were dropped back to civic and the boys thought that we had time for a couple of schooners. So we went to the City Club under Garema Place. Toohey's only cost $2.10 so i'm a bit of okay with dodginess as long as it means cheap beer. So there. Tried my luck at the pokies and got myself a dollar. Which is a dollar more than josh got for his investment. After knocking down a couple we went to the opening of Adrenalin to watch snowboarders do their best not to smack their faces on the railing. we stood for a bit and they decided they needed more to drink. So we crossed the street to Civic Pub. Dan ordered lemon lime slushy with Vodka.. after we took turns sipping it jorsh reckoned we should put his beer in it to make it more "liquidy" (his word not mine). It tasted disgusting.. it's like cordial with beer only.. erm.. slushier.

And then we came back to watch more of the snow boarders and skiers jump down from the ramp. Listened to the band, wished the sausage sizzle didn't cost so much and tried to keep silly boy dan warm coz he didn't bring a jumper (silly!! there's snow in the city!!! i'm sure that warrants bringing a jumper!). good thing he caught (well it literally landed on his lap) a wrist band. At least his wrists weren't cold, hey?

So we were trying to figure out where to go next when they suddenly got it in their heads that they wanted to do karaoke.. and after a bit of reminiscing about the last time jorsh did karaoke in our house.. we decided to go back to my flat. Of course after detouring to dan's house to get him a jumper and to check out his new house and then to new res where we picked up ben with the goon.

Much to my utter relief larla was there as i didn't have my keys yet again i wouldn't know what to do with 3 blokes and a bag of goon if she wasn't in.We demolished their leftover and a bit of pizza. And after the goon the singing (or shall i say the screeching) began. it was a hoot i tell yah.. them jumping around on our ikea carpet. Us singing and crooning along to the stupid songs they can find from the song list.

it was a quality night.. cheap and fun. goon, karaoko, 3 crazy blokes will sure equate to a good friday night in.
